Hi, I am Jin. Welcome to Chopstick Therapy, my creative playground for food photography and recipes inspired by Chinese home style cooking. Born and bred in China, I have no doubt inherited the national obsession of food. Thinking, talking, cooking, eating and sharing of food has always been a huge source of enjoyment.
I am a cook-from-scratch minimalist. Like many, I want to cook fresh and eat well but don’t have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. The Chinese food I grew up on, and have truly come to appreciate during my past decade of living overseas, has provided me with a wealth of resources and inspiration in my search for healthy and simple recipes. So I decided to start this blog, a perfect platform for sharing.
Chinese home cooking is mainly plant-based; meat is used sparingly; and is dairy-free. Compared with the elaborate and indulgent Chinese restaurant cuisine, the humble and nourishing daily provision is simple, naturally healthy and affordable.
Most recipes on this blog are traditional or adapted recipes originating from various regions of China. The food is prepared, photographed and enjoyed in my modest home kitchen in Wellington, New Zealand. It is early days for this blog, I hope you will come back and check it out from time to time and find something interesting to add to your repertoire.
